In 2026, a newborn care specialist (NCS) in Miami costs $33–$52 per hour, or $280–$450 per night. Here's how NCS rates compare with night nannies and baby nurses, what NCS certification means, and how our flat placement fees work.
Nanny
Live-out, live-in and travel nannies for infants through school-age children.
Night Nurse
Newborn care specialists, baby nurses and doulas for overnight support.
Nanny-Housekeeper
Childcare combined with family laundry, meals and household upkeep.
Traditional Housekeeper
Experienced housekeepers for private homes and estates.
Families in Brickell, Coral Gables, Key Biscayne, Miami Beach, Pinecrest and Aventura generally fall within the same 2026 range. Twins, preemies, 24-hour schedules and short-notice starts sit at the top of the range.
Hourly pay goes directly to the caregiver; the agency fee is a one-time flat placement fee.

A newborn care specialist has completed dedicated training in infant care for roughly the first 16 weeks of life — including feeding plans, sleep shaping, safe sleep, newborn development, and caring for multiples or babies with reflux. Certification is not a nursing license; it signals specialized newborn training beyond general childcare experience. We verify certifications, CPR & First Aid and references for every candidate we present.
Placement fees follow our three flat-fee packages: Basic / Advise $1,500 + taxes (90-day replacement warranty), Standard $2,500 + taxes (6-month warranty, most popular) and Premium $3,500 + taxes (12-month warranty). A non-refundable $500 retainer activates the search and is deducted from the package total. We accept Zelle, Venmo and bank transfer.
| Role | Focus | Best time |
|---|---|---|
| Night nanny | Overnight feedings, diapering, soothing and a nightly log so parents can sleep. | Any time in the first year when parents need rest. |
| Newborn care specialist (NCS) | Specialized newborn training: sleep shaping, feeding plans, multiples, reflux and preemie routines. | The first 0–16 weeks, especially for first-time parents or twins. |
| Baby nurse | Hands-on newborn care, often 24-hour or overnight in the first weeks home. | Right after birth, for a few weeks to several months. |
| Postpartum doula | Care for the whole family: maternal recovery, feeding support, emotional support, sibling transition and light household help. | The fourth trimester — the first 12 weeks after birth. |
In 2026, a newborn care specialist in Miami costs $33–$52 per hour, or about $280–$450 per night.
They overlap. "Baby nurse" is a common term for newborn caregivers; an NCS has completed specialized newborn training. Neither is necessarily a licensed nurse.
If you mainly need overnight rest, a night nanny ($30–$48/hr) may be enough. For sleep shaping, twins or reflux, an NCS is often worth it.
Most families book an NCS for 4 to 16 weeks after birth, then transition to a nanny.
A one-time flat fee of $1,500, $2,500 or $3,500 plus taxes, depending on the replacement warranty you choose.
Yes. Our postpartum doulas support Miami families through the fourth trimester with overnight care, feeding help and maternal recovery. Learn more on our postpartum doula page at /postpartum-doula-miami.
